Multiwire for granite and marble Dianormet WL-6M

is designed in a two-column construction along with a transverse beam that stabilizes the machine’s operation. On the engine side, there is a multi-grooved flywheel driven by the engine using a belt transmission. On the tensioner side, there are tensioning rollers, one for each cable, and a cable guide axis with independent guiding wheels for each cable. Thanks to the machine’s design with three tool bending points, diamond wires can achieve better performance. The machine owes its stability not only to its construction but also to its total mass of 18 tons. An independent tensioning system, a digital PLC control system, and modular connection of each part provide the machine with the advantages of a simple design, convenient operation, and high efficiency. The table is powered by motors directly mounted on the drive wheels. The table’s load capacity is 20 tons.

The Dianormet WL-6M Multiwire is designed for cutting 5 different types of plates. The distance between the cables can be easily adjusted by inserting spacer elements between the flywheels of the guiding drum and by moving the individual tensioning pulleys on the axes to which they are attached to match them to the guiding flywheel for the cables. At the same time, it is possible to cut plates with a thickness of 10 cm using six cables, thanks to a 60 cm wide shaft.

Each cable is individually tensioned by a hydraulic actuator controlled by a hydraulic control unit. During operation, the cable tension is monitored by the PLC controller software. The machine has a cable breakage protection system. In the event of a sudden drop in pressure in the cable tensioning system, the main engine and the descent engine will stop, and the machine will enter emergency mode until the cable is replaced and the system is reset. With the hydraulic control unit, we can adjust the tension within the range of 220-260 kg.

The electrical panel is designed to be reliable while enabling simple and quick operation. Inside Multiwire  are state-of-the-art electronic and electromechanical components, while outside, there is a touchscreen that allows the operator to communicate with the machine very conveniently, keeping all cutting parameters under control, such as: downward feed speed, rotational speed of the cables, cable tension, and the ability to store optimal cutting conditions for each type of stone.
